On July 22, a new exhibit opened at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge, featuring none other than Sarah Morgan! State-of-the-art special effects allow Sarah to introduce visitors to her "castle." The State House, as it was once called, was built on land donated by the Morgan family. It is mentioned in her diary, and was only a short walk from her home. The young actress who portrays Sarah, Chelsea Morgan Thomas, is actually a descendent of Sarah's brother. We met at a reception hosted by Secretaryof State Jay Dardenne. This agency was behind the latest restoration of the wonderful old structure, which has stood watch over the Mississippi since the 1840's.
The team from BRC Imagination Arts of California is credited with state-of-the-art exhibits from Universal Studios to the Netherlands. Once again, they have created a fun, interactive learning experience that visitors of all ages will enjoy. When in Baton Rouge, be sure to stop by Sarah's "castle."
